Greer, Jr., professor of medicine and associate dean for community engagement at Florida International University, was the keynote speaker. Dr. Greer gave an inspiring talk about the need to change the model for healthcare education to a patient centered approach that puts of premium on prevention rather than intervention. Dr. Greer also toured HealthStreet, met with PHHP faculty members, and had lunch with students working in the Equal Access Clinics. In addition to Dr. Greer’s talk, Diversity Day included poster presentations showcasing diversity in research. Winners of the PHHP Diversity Research Awards were: Helena Chapman, Denise McIntyre, and Danielle Scheer. The college congratulates these students on their excellent work.
